Katri Vehviläinen-Julkunen, MSc, Lic HC, PhD, Professor and Chair in Nursing, Director of the Doctoral Program in Health Sciences, is an experienced researcher, leader and educator in the field of  maternity and child health as well as health services research based on big data, intervention studies as well as qualitative approaches. Prof. Vehviläinen-Julkunen has a part time position in Kuopio University Hospital, Finland, providing her close connection with clinical practice. She is an author of over 400 peer reviewed papers and other publications and supervisor of over 40 PhD theses.  She is currently leader and the coordinator of H2020,  MSCA- RISE, project INEXCA 2015-2018, grant no: 645634 (http://www.uef.fi/en/web/inexca) and the country coordinator of EU-FP7, OptiBirth grant 305208 for years 2012-2017 as well as EU-Cost Action ISO907.
