Professor Rita Borg Xuereb:  rita.borg-xuereb@um.edu.mt

Professor Rita Borg Xuereb, is an academic and researcher in midwifery within the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta.  She is also an elected Board member of the International Confederation of Midwives, representing Southern Europe and ICM’s liaison Board member for education (2014-). In 2013, she organised the Cost Action IS0907 ‘Childbirth Cultures and consequences: Creating a dynamic EU framework for optimal maternity care’ Training School entitled ‘Writing skills for publication’, and the Committee meeting and workshop, in Malta, 21-27 November. Presently she is the lead in the Babies Born Better survey.

Professor Jean Calleja-Agius: jean.calleja-agius@um.edu.mt

Professor Jean Calleja-Agius is an obstetrician and gynaecologist, and is currently the Head of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta. Her current research interests involve embryology and women’s health. She has been actively involved in the COST Action on Building Intrapartum Research through Health (BIRTH) IS1405, and organized the Final Action Conference in Malta in November 2018, where she was appointed vice-president of the new Intrapartum Birth Research Association (IBRAA).

Dr Andee Agius: andee.agius03@um.edu.mt 

Dr Andee Agius is a doctor of Medicine and Surgery. She holds an undergraduate degree in health sciences from the University of Malta and masters degrees in Public Health Medicine (University of Malta) and Clinical Research (University of Newcastle). She worked as a resident academic staff at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Malta and has been actively involved in the COST Action on Building Intrapartum Research through Health (BIRTH) IS1405.  Her research interests include medical education, clinical research, women’s health and community care services.

Ms Pauline Fenech is a registered nurse and midwife and hold accreditation in lactation as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has a degree in Midwifery and a Masters degree in Research for Policy and Practice.
